This artist became the first artist whose paintings were presented in the Louvre. She defended women's rights, joining the human rights movement and publishing articles in the magazine about discrimination against women artists. And her "Diary", which was published after the author's death, impressed the society of that time with the courage of her thoughts about the equal rights of men and women.
She worked very hard, trying to accomplish as much as possible in the short life that fate had allotted to her. And wherever she was, she remembered her homeland and always reminded that she was Ukrainian.
Тoday, in the column "Know Yours, Yours and Ours" we are talking about the artist, writer of Ukrainian origin Maria Bashkyrtseva.
