Is your role “the rescuer”?

Is your role “the rescuer”?

On Saturday, October 3, at 6:00 PM, we invite you to join an online group session with a psychologist on the topic “Why Am I Always Trying to Save Others?” The event will take place as part of our ongoing Support project. The group will be led by practicing psychologist Yana Kobets.

Advance registration: Registration form

Do you find it difficult not to step in when your loved ones are facing problems? How often do you put other people’s needs before your own, take responsibility for others, or feel guilty when you are unable to help?

Sometimes, the constant desire to “rescue” others can stem from a need to feel needed, earn love, or prove your own worth. If these questions resonate with you, our session may help you better understand yourself, your needs, and your boundaries in relationships with others.

During the session, we will:

  • talk about the “rescuer” role and how it develops;
  • explore our own patterns of helping others;
  • discuss the difference between genuine care and excessive responsibility;
  • complete a practical exercise to become more aware of our own needs and boundaries.

We ask participants to keep their cameras on during the group session. The session will last two hours.

Join us as we learn to notice not only the needs of others, but our own as well.
