To the All-Ukrainian Day of Fighting Breast Cancer, which is celebrated on October 20, the Vadym Stolar Foundation together with the leading clinic of the capital invites women to undergo a free ultrasound examination.
Unfortunately, due to the full-scale war, women now have even more trouble than usual. In this difficult time, they defend the country at the front on an equal footing with men, volunteer, work and often raise children themselves. And all parents know that in the last year and a half, with constant anxiety and blackouts, it is very difficult.
There is often simply no time left for oneself, and this situation is quite dangerous. After all, according to data from 2020, at the age of 18–24, breast cancer ranks third in the incidence structure of Ukrainian women (10.8%), and from 30 to 74 years it became the leader (27.6–20.6%) .
In the structure of cancer mortality in the female population, breast cancer prevails in the age groups of 30–54, 55–74 and 75+ years and accounts for 24.5%, 20.6% and 18.5%, respectively. At the same time, unfortunately, every fourth woman is diagnosed with breast cancer already at stage III-IV, when the effectiveness of treatment is significantly reduced.
In order for more women to be able to check themselves, the Vadym Stolar Foundation, together with a partner clinic, organizes free check-ups among representatives of IDPs and families who lost a father in the war or were left without a home. Registration for all women from the above categories who are in Kyiv is available at the link. Participants will be selected randomly using a special service.
"In addition to all-round support for the military and food aid to civilians, for the second year in a row we are conducting measures aimed at the psychological and physical recovery of Ukrainians. In this line of work, we arrange periodic health check-ups with the aim of early detection of dangerous diseases. In particular, they are aimed at our women, who in these difficult times have very little time for themselves. It's very difficult for everyone today, and it's hard for women, but we need the strength to hold out until Victory, and after it to restore the country," emphasized Nataliya Prykhodko, a volunteer of the Vadym Stolar Foundation.
Who is at risk: check yourself
Unfortunately, even a perfectly healthy woman with no predispositions can get breast cancer, but there are certain signs that put you at risk - and you should know them:
Take care of yourself and get tested in time to prevent trouble! In turn, the Vadym Stolar Foundation will continue to carry out activities aimed at preserving the health of the Ukrainian nation!
