"My pain was eased by the fact that on February 24 and 25, all my acquaintances from the Russian Federation (writers, musicians, programmers, scientists, bloggers) wrote to me on social networks apologizing for the start of a full-scale war. They promised to fight and oppose this aggression, to help To Ukraine. Some do so, and I am proud of them," the woman continues.

I can't live with this!

Olesya's husband died of a stroke two months after the start of the Great War. "He was much older than me, a conservative person, was formed and grew up in the USSR, believed in the brotherhood of peoples. The attack of the Russians shocked him... Every time he learned about another crime by the Russians, he almost cried: "How could they? I can't live with it!'"

March 2022

The library in the village of Stanislav, where Olesya was the director, was seized by the occupiers in March 2022. "They broke windows and doors, tore books and used them instead of toilet paper... But the worst thing is that they set up a torture chamber there... My colleagues, village librarians, elderly women who have devoted more than thirty years to this work, cried: "How will we work here , knowing that our fellow villagers were tortured in these walls?"
